About

Commercial Marketing and Growth Leader

Most of my work over the past nine years has been commercial, building marketing functions from a standing start that hold budgets against actuals, report a return to the executive committee and shape which accounts the business pursues, which it protects and where the repeat revenue sits.

Brand and communications is the craft underneath that, carried across nine markets in South Africa, the United Kingdom and the SADC region, and it works because the research, the governance and the operating structure are in place before the creative begins.

BeautyOne, Brand Repositioning & Creative Direction

Brand RepositioningCreative StrategyBrand Direction

BeautyOne is a Canadian aesthetics clinic I worked with as they made a deliberate strategic move from purely aesthetic treatments into the broader territory of holistic wellness. The pivot needed a credible reframe of the offer so that existing clients stayed and new clients could see the clinic as a legitimate wellness destination. I led the full brand repositioning, framing aesthetic and wellness outcomes as points on the same continuum of self-care, establishing the brand territory that could hold both without contradiction and building the creative direction that made the pivot coherent across every touchpoint. The holiday campaign creative built on that foundation was a twelve-day content series structured to move from product spotlight to treatment education to emotional resonance, each day carrying the brand voice consistently while speaking to a different layer of the wellness proposition, opening with the familiar to hold the existing client base, deepening into education to build credibility and landing on the emotional territory that would pull new clients in. The work had to land in a competitive North American market where aesthetics clinics are abundant and wellness brands are sophisticated, which demanded commercial discipline in the creative, and the register I held throughout kept the warmth of a wellness brand and the precision of a clinical one in the same voice.
