About
Most of my work over the past nine years has been commercial, building marketing functions from a standing start that hold budgets against actuals, report a return to the executive committee and shape which accounts the business pursues, which it protects and where the repeat revenue sits.
Brand and communications is the craft underneath that, carried across nine markets in South Africa, the United Kingdom and the SADC region, and it works because the research, the governance and the operating structure are in place before the creative begins.

Financial Services · Standard Bank Business
Between 2023 and 2025 I held a near-executive seat at Traffic Hub, carrying the profit and loss with the founders and leading a team of twenty across enterprise and small business accounts, and Standard Bank Business was one of the two anchor accounts. Managed advertising spend across the anchor accounts grew from approximately R200,000 in the first year to approximately R3.5 million by the third, with most of that growth coming from performance results on scopes we already had, since each increase had to be justified against the return the previous quarter had delivered. I built the social-to-ecommerce pipeline that connected awareness investment to actual conversion, developed the campaign optimisation frameworks that let the business see which channels were producing and which were merely spending, and put measurement infrastructure in place that gave the client real visibility into what was driving growth. The Standard Bank 160 Years of Possibilities campaign was one of the flagship pieces I delivered, running across LinkedIn and the broader media mix with messaging built to speak directly to entrepreneurs who had been told they did not understand business finance, written to meet that audience where their pride lived. Running this account as Operations Director meant the strategy, the delivery and the commercial health of the engagement all lived in my seat, an arrangement that taught me how much marketing work suffers when those three things are held by different people who do not talk to each other enough. The tracking, the optimisation cadence and the reporting infrastructure I built there became my template for performance marketing governance.
